I'm running for Senate District 23 because I care deeply about the future of our community. We are making progress in recovering from this national economic recession and we are doing things now that will help us continue to add new jobs.

Investing in clean energy and biorenewables will help us create jobs that cannot be outsourced to another country. Investing in a new small business loan fund will help our main street businesses expand to create jobs. Making sure we restore K-12 education funding and keeping college affordable for students and their families are also key components of the future economic success of our communities.

As your senator, I have worked hard to

• Strengthen small businesses
• Support research to develop the bioeconomy
• Promote wind energy and renewable fuels

Prioritize education funding:

• Restore ISU funding & keep tuition down
• Direct education funds to the classroom
• Provide quality education at all levels
• Pay teachers fairly

Make government accountable:

• Balance the budget and eliminate waste
• Enact clean campaign finance reform

Improve public safety & health:

• Keep sex predators out of schools/daycares
• Improve water and air quality

Honor our veterans:

• Protect the jobs of those serving overseas
• Deliver on promised education benefits
